About

This is the part where I’m supposed to explain who I am.

I’m not great at doing that in a neat, structured way, so this will probably go a little all over the place.

I’m a Dentist. A Periodontist, to be specific. In a world full of ग़म, I take care of gums.

I studied dentistry, and now I run a clinic in Bangalore. And oh, you should totally book an appointment. Because, why not.

Well, a lot of my day is fairly predictable, people come in with something they’ve been putting off, we figure it out, and things usually get better from there.

I like that part.

I try to keep things simple with patients. No unnecessary drama, no overcomplicating things. Explain what’s happening, fix what can be fixed, and not make it more stressful than it already is.

I also care a lot about how people feel when they walk in. Most people don’t come to a dentist because they’re excited about it.

Somewhere along the way, I realised half the job is just making people a little less anxious. Which is slightly ironic, because I’m not exactly the calmest person myself.

I overthink things.

I assume worst-case scenarios a bit too quickly. I’ve just gotten better at managing it over time.

Mental health is something I take seriously, even if I don’t always talk about it in a serious way.

I like figuring out what works, routine, distractions, work, occasionally just ignoring things till they settle. It’s not perfect, but it works most days.

One thing I’ve realised matters more than most things is basic empathy.

I don’t think everything should come down to profit or convenience. If helping someone properly means taking more time, or even not making as much,

I’m okay with that.

I find it hard to understand when people don’t operate like that. Lack of empathy, basic consideration, or even punctuality, that tends to irritate me more than it should.

Outside of work, I spend an unreasonable amount of time trying to find reasons to stay at home and watch shows.

Not the “critically acclaimed cinema” type always, sometimes just absolute nonsense that somehow works.

I like things that are unintentionally funny. Or very intentionally stupid. My sense of humour is a bit all over the place. Dry, sometimes dark, sometimes very lame.

I laugh at things I probably shouldn’t, and don’t laugh at things I’m supposed to.

I also spend time on Twitter, occasionally saying things that don’t really need to be said. And by occasionally, I mean regularly. It’s mostly just shitposting. Sometimes it’s observational. Sometimes it’s just boredom.

Every now and then, I write a bit more seriously. Usually on Substack, occasionally here. Not on a schedule, just when something feels worth putting down properly.

A decent amount of thinking also happens over chai, which is probably doing more heavy lifting than it should.

This website is somewhere between all of that.

Some of it will be about dentistry, things I see often, things people ignore, things I wish more people knew earlier.

Some of it will be about everything else.

I don’t have a very fixed plan for it.

Professionally, I want to keep getting better at what I do, build something that people trust, and make the whole experience of going to a dentist slightly less annoying.

Personally, I’m still figuring things out. Trying to be a little more consistent, a little less reactive, and slightly better at not overthinking things that don’t need that much attention.

That’s about it, for now.

Yes, I also see patients.

If you're in Bangalore and your gums have been giving you grief, or even if you've just been putting off that appointment you know you need, come find me. I promise it's less scary than you think.
